The Patient Care Technician program at PTI prepares you to work in a hospital environment under the direct supervision of a registered nurse. Those who graduate as a Patient Care Technician in Arizona can expect to find employment opportunities in hospitals, rehabilitation centers, and placement agencies.
Skills and Practices Learned
The program covers extensive instruction including but not limited to:
- Blood collection (Phlebotomy)
- Electrocardiograms (EKGs)
- Catheterization
- Recording vital signs and patient treatments
- Responding to patient calls
- Assisting patients in dressing, grooming, bathing, and other aspects of personal hygiene
Externship
Following the classroom and laboratory training, students will partake in a provided externship in order to develop their skills and get a real world experience. Externships for the Patient Care Technician Phoenix program will take place at hospitals and rehabilitation centers.
Program Tuition: $1,850.00 (with prior CNA or EMT)
